A Lesson in Fear and Freedom

The Angel on Two Wheels

My husband and I were eating lunch outside when she caught my attention. A woman, alone, preparing to ride off on her electric bike. She packed her groceries neatly into the small built-in basket, balancing a meal in one hand as she moved with quiet confidence.

I felt something stir inside me. A pull. Inspiration. I didn’t know why exactly, but I knew fear was the only thing holding me back from walking over to her.

And since I’m on this journey of awareness and growth, I recognized it. Fear—the quiet force that keeps us stuck, that convinces us to stay in our comfort zones. But I couldn’t ignore it. Not this time. So, I got up and went to her.

She greeted me with warmth, open and willing to share. She was 72 years old, she told me, and this bike was her freedom. But it wasn’t just about the bike—it was about her presence. Alone, yet completely whole. Moving through the world at her own pace, untethered, unbothered.

Before she left, I asked for her best advice.

"Have fun," she said. "And don’t get involved with the things that are so easy to get yourself involved in."

So simple. So profound.

I walked away with complete gratitude. A gift wrapped in a moment. A reminder to seek what makes my soul happy.

Conquer Fear, One Moment at a Time

How many times have we felt a pull to do something—a conversation to start, a step to take, a path to follow—but let fear hold us back?

Fear is sneaky. It disguises itself as logic, as hesitation, as an excuse wrapped in comfort. But every time we recognize it and push through, we grow. We expand. We break free.

This day, I conquered fear in the smallest way: by talking to a stranger. And in return, I walked away with wisdom that will stay with me forever.

So, what’s pulling at you? What moment is waiting for you to step into it?

Whatever it is—go. Lean in. Take the step. Because fear loses its power the moment you stop listening to it!

And on the other side? Freedom.
